    Danby 50 Pint Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier 4.5 5 36 48
Amazing product! Purchased after reviewing many products on-line. Great business to deal with. Best price, fast shipping, plugged into our basement. Takes out a lot of water - we are extremely pleased! May 15, 2012
Good value I've had several dehumidifiers over the years and this one seems to be better quality construction of the cabinet and catch bucket. I use it in my basement and have noticed a marked improvement in the smell and quality of air. April 17, 2012
Very happy with the unit This is the first time we have had a basement. It is cinder block so leaks a bit. There can be some moisture on the walls and a bit of puddling after a rain and before the water evaporates. Since we store some paintings, canvases and other art supplies in the basement, we needed to control the humidity. This unit does just that. It is able to handle the moisture effectively. We do not have a drain, so we have to empty it just about every other day. It stops as it is suppose to. Once emptied, it starts up again. We do not spend a lot of time in the basement, so no strong opinion about the noise. Seems to be on the noisy side, but I don't have anything to compare it it. Overall, very happy with the purchase. Danby 50 Great dehumidifier, I bought this to reduce the moisture in the lower level guest quarters. It is not too noisy, great when using continious drain hose. Otherwise it collects a full tank of water each day. perfect for my needs. Make sure you get the model with the remote. The remote makes it very easy to setup and control. Its worth the money. A:
No, the hose cannot at any point go above the approximately 1' height it begins at on the back of the unit.
Do you have a floating slab basement with a sump pump? We drain into that.

I'm no pro, but two solutions I can think of are a mini pump (our furnace/ac/humidifier uses one for just that purpose). Your unit would drain into it and it would occasionally pump the water up to the sink. The other option is to mount the unit higher. We have a double concrete sink and our previous solution was to just put the unit right into the side we didn't use much. This isn't as good because the damper air is lower.

    A:
The dehumidifier is equipped with a drain pan that can be used to empty any/all water it has pulled from the air.

Water will no drain t to a location that is above the unit in any situation unless a motorize pump is used.
